Creamy Tomato Basil Pasta

Ingredients:

  • 8 oz Best Italian Pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Cook Best Italian Pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in heavy cream and let the sauce thicken for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Toss in the drained pasta, adding reserved pasta water if needed for a smooth sauce.
  6. Stir in fresh basil and top with Parmesan.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy a creamy, flavorful Italian dish!
